FAQs

Sessions take place securely online using a HIPAA-compliant video platform. Research shows that teletherapy is as effective as in-person therapy. Teletherapy offers flexibility while maintaining professional standards, allowing you to meet from a private space that works for you — whether that's your home, office or another quiet, confidential setting.

The initial intake session is 60 minutes. Subsequent sessions are 50 minutes, once a week.

I am a private-pay provider. While I don't accept insurance directly, your plan may offer out-of-network (OON) benefits, which means your insurance may reimburse you for a portion of the cost of our therapy sessions.

I use Thrizer as my payment platform for private-pay therapy sessions.

If you have OON benefits, Thrizer can also help make the out-of-network billing process easier. Through Thrizer, you can check your estimated OON benefits, see an estimated session cost, pay for sessions and have eligible OON claims submitted for you.

If your plan reimburses for OON care, reimbursement is determined by your insurance after the claim is processed. If you are eligible, you may also have the option to pay an estimated upfront amount instead of paying my full session fee and waiting for reimbursement.

You can use the widget below to check your estimated OON benefits and session cost for therapy sessions. If you would prefer to self-submit, I can provide a superbill upon request.

I aim to schedule new clients as soon as possible, depending on availability. Once you reach out, I will respond promptly to discuss your needs and schedule a 15–20-minute complimentary telephone or video call to assess if we are a good fit for one another. If I am not an appropriate fit, I can likely refer you to someone who is.

The first session is a space to get to know each other, understand your background, challenges and goals and begin building a plan for support. It's an opportunity to ask questions and share your story. This initial session tends to be slightly longer than a typical session and lasts up to 60 minutes.

You can contact me via the Contact page or email/phone listed on this site. I will respond promptly and guide you through the process of starting therapy, including scheduling and paperwork.

No Surprises Act & Good Faith Estimate

The No Surprises Act is a federal law designed to protect clients from unexpected medical bills and to promote transparency in healthcare costs. As an out-of-network provider, I am required to provide a Good Faith Estimate of the expected cost of therapy services for clients who are self-paying or who choose not to submit claims to insurance.

A Good Faith Estimate outlines the anticipated fees for services before therapy begins and can also be requested at any point during treatment. Receiving this estimate is intended to help you make informed decisions and does not obligate you to start or continue therapy. Under the No Surprises Act, you have specific rights if your actual charges differ substantially from the estimate, including the right to dispute a bill.

For questions or more information about the Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
